The swab combines a high-density polyurethane foam head with an extended polypropylene handle, addressing cleaning requirements inside enclosed structures such as integrated circuit package interiors, medical device tubing, and precision instrument channel cavities.
The foam head measures 17mm in length, 6.8mm in width, and 5.0mm in thickness — the 5.0mm thickness dimension is greater than comparable foam swabs in this series, providing increased foam volume for higher liquid retention during deep cavity cleaning passes. The high-density foam construction delivers strong adsorption of particulates, lubricant residues, and cleaning solvents while maintaining a lint-free, low-particle-generation surface in contact with substrate walls.
The closed-cell foam material resists compression deformation during insertion into narrow channels, allowing the swab to maintain consistent contact pressure against channel walls throughout the cleaning stroke. Solvent compatibility includes IPA and standard cleaning agents, and the low NVR characteristic ensures no chemical deposits remain on deep cavity surfaces after solvent evaporation. The foam is free of silicone additives, which is relevant for semiconductor and optical applications where silicone contamination affects downstream process steps.
The polypropylene handle extends to 160mm in total length, providing the reach necessary for internal cleaning of equipment where the cleaning target is located 100mm or more from the access point. The 3.2mm width and thickness deliver sufficient rigidity to transmit wiping force to the foam head without handle buckling inside narrow channel entries.
