The SW-847D is a foam cleanroom swab with a rectangular polyurethane foam head, intended for dust removal and residue cleaning on circuit boards, sensors, and precision component surfaces in industrial cleanroom environments. The foam head construction produces a lint-free wiping surface with low particle generation, making it compatible with ISO Class 4–7 cleanroom standards including Class 100 environments.
The swab head measures 17mm in length, 6.8mm in width, and 2.8mm in thickness. The open-cell polyurethane foam structure provides controlled liquid absorption and release, suitable for applying IPA and solvent-based cleaning agents directly onto component surfaces. The low-density foam compresses evenly under normal wiping pressure without shedding fibers or fragmenting at the contact edge, which is particularly relevant when cleaning exposed bond pads, sensor membranes, or adhesive residues on circuit board substrates.
The SW-847D is produced in a cleanroom environment throughout its manufacturing process, eliminating fiber contamination introduced during fabrication. The foam material is free of silicone and adhesive binders, which supports its use in processes sensitive to ionic contamination and chemical cross-contamination. The swab is made from incinerable materials, meeting basic environmental disposal requirements for cleanroom consumables.
The polypropylene handle measures 100mm in total length with 3.2mm width and thickness. The handle geometry allows access to recessed component areas and confined spaces on populated PCB assemblies without contact between the operator's hand and the cleaning zone.
